Just belatedly discovered Allo Darlin' through HDIF, a truly wonderful band that I wish I'd known about 10 years ago!
Favorite track: The Polaroid Song.
Tim Brennan
Fun and quirky; I find myself singing so many of these songs at random times. The band always sounds like it's having so much fun!
Favorite track: Kiss Your Lips.

The 10 songs on Allo Darlin's self-titled debut album don't rewrite the formula for wistful bedsit charm as much as show that it can still be carried out masterfully.
BBC
This debut is a joy from beginning to end, a fully-formed talent at the first attempt – as rare as it is welcome.
PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER
Put simply, this is the best summer record you’ll hear all year, and potentially the best you’ll hear all decade.

THE LINE OF BEST FIT
When we talk about records fit for summer, we mean one that evokes lazy, crazy days of warm sun by means of unhurried ease and glorious melody. Allo Darlin’ certainly do all that. Get it home, though, and there’s just as much to admire in the smart lyrical touch that belies any sort of scene connotations, a fine romance borne from catching hold of the little things.

All songs written by Allo Darlin'.
We have lovingly borrowed lines from El Scorcho, written by Rivers Cuomo and I Walk the Line, written by Johnny Cash. The line in Silver Dollars rhyming gin and tonic is inspired by Gin and Platonic by the Smittens.
The name of this album perfectly encapsulates everything I love about Elizabeth's musical output from the Darlings to Allo Darlin' to these precious songs: an unyielding optimism that is never naive, and by being so, becomes wildly contagious. Some music tells you that "everything will be ok", but her music actually makes you believe it, even when the lyrics hint at doubt. Michael Feck
